Planar Monolithic Industries (PMI), a leading supplier of custom, high-reliability MIC/MMIC components and subsystems for applications in space, military, communications, commercial and consumer electronics systems for more than three decades, recently introduced five new products in their extensive line of RF and microwave components. Included are a 1 to 20 GHz successive detection log video amplifier (SDLVA), an integrated microwave filter assembly covering 2 to 6 GHz, a 10 MHz to 18 GHz coaxial power limiter, a 12.8 GHz phase locked dielectric resonator oscillator (PLDRO), and a 4.4 to 7.8 GHz downconverter module . Contact PMI today for more information.

PMI Model No. SDLVA-1G20G-58-12-SFF, Successive Detection Log Video Amplifier - RF CafePMI Model No. SDLVA-1G20G-58-12-SFF, Successive Detection Log Video Amplifier

PMI Model No. SDLVA-1G20G-58-12-SFF is a 1.0 to 20.0 GHz SDLVA. Excellent performance is packed into this ultra-small package. Its ultra-wide frequency range and 59 dB dynamic range makes this part suitable for a multitude of applications. A key feature is its low power consumption of 1.2 W and a single operating voltage of +12 V. Supplied in PMI standard PE2 housing (1.08" x 0.71" x 0.29") that can be used as a SMA connectorized or surface mount component.

PIMA-26-4C-PD2-BPF-L, Integrated Microwave Filter Assembly - RF CafePMI Model No. PIMA-26-4C-PD2-BPF-L, Integrated Microwave Filter Assembly

PMI Model No. PIMA-26-4C-PD2-BPF-L is an integrated microwave assembly consisting of 4 independent channels. Each channel incorporates a 2-way power divider and a bandpass filter that operates in the 2 to 6 GHz frequency range. Specification include Insertion Loss of 4.5 dB; VSWR of 2.0:1; Isolation of 15 dB Typ; Amplitude Balance of ±0.5 dB; Phase Balance of ±5°; Filter Passband of 3.0 to 5.0 GHz; Filter Rejection of 55 dB; and Passband Flatness of ±1 dB. Housing is 4.0” X 3.25” X 0.5” and has SMA female connectors.

No. LM-10M18G-16-20W-AL, Coaxial Limiter - RF CafePMI Model No. LM-10M18G-16-20W-AL, Coaxial Limiter

PMI Model No. LM-10M18G-16-20W-AL is a coaxial limiter with an operating range of 10 MHz to 18.0 GHz. This model has a maximum insertion loss of 2.0 dB at -10 dBm input power with a VSWR of 2.0:1 maximum. This compact unit measures of 0.90" x 0.38" square and is outfitted with SMA connectors.

PIA-12D8G-CD-1, Phase Locked Dielectric Resonator Oscillator - RF CafePMI Model No. PIA-12D8G-CD-1, Phase Locked Dielectric Resonator Oscillator (PLDRO)

PMI Model No. PIA-12D8G-CD-1, Phase Locked, Dielectric Resonator Oscillator has Internal Reference having an output frequency of 12.8 GHz and provides a minimum output of +13 dBm with all spurs held to -80 dBc, harmonics held to -25 dBc. Frequency stability is ±3 ppm with an internal reference of 100 MHz. Unit measures 2.25" x 2.25" x 0.62" and has SMA Female connectors.

PMI Model No. PMIX-4D4G7D8G-1G4D4G-12V, Down Converter Module - RF CafePMI Model No. PMIX-4D4G7D8G-1G4D4G-12V, Down Converter Module

PMI Model No. PMIX-4D4G7D8G-1G4D4G-12V is a 4.4 to 7.8 GHz, Down Converter Module that has a typical gain of 3 dB; a Max VSWR of 6.5:1; RF Input Power -15 dBm Typ., -10 dBm Max; LO Input 8.8 GHz; LO Input Power +18 dBm Typ; IF Output Range 1.0 to 4.4 GHz; Noise Figure 14 dB Max. - Measured 12.93 dB; Harmonics -60 dBc Max; Spurious -60 dBc Max; and Output IP3 +25 dBm. About Planar Monolithics Industries (PMI)

Planar Monolithics Industries, Inc., was founded by entrepreneurial technocrat Dr. Ashok (Ash) Gorwara on November 11, 1989. For over three decades, PMI has been a leading supplier of custom, high-reliability MIC/MMIC components and subsystems for applications in space, military, communications, commercial and consumer electronics systems.

Today, PMI with Quantic's leadership, continues to carry on the legacy of its founder, Dr. Ash by expanding the applications of RF/Microwave components and subsystems into new, low cost, RF/Microwave receiving and transmitting systems for both civilian and military customers.

PMI was founded basically to take advantage of the growing demand in monolithic-based products using the Hybrid MIC/MMIC technology innovations that are mushrooming in a big way all over the world. High performance and reliable products can be obtained by using this technology.

A vacuum exists in the demand for state-of-the-art Hybrid MIC/MMIC Components and Subsystems. Planar Monolithics will meet these requirements.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
