Tim Hawkins Video - "The Government Can"

I have to be honest and admit that prior to seeing this video by Tim Hawkins, I had never heard of him. This guy is a hilarious comedian and has a slew of self-produced videos. This one is a parody of Sammy Davis Jr.'s "The Candy Man."

RF Cafe - Sammy Davis Jr. singing "The Candy Man"Anyone my age or older remembers Sammy appearing on Dean Martin's show, Johnny Carson's show, and other variety shows back in the 1960s and 1970s. "The Candy Man" was a song he performed over and over... and over, and over, and over... and over, and over...

Lyrics for "The Government Can"

Who can tax the sunrise?

Who can tax the trees?…

The Government… (The Government…)

Oh, the Government can.

The Government can because they mix it up with lies and make it all taste good.

Who can give a bailout?

Tell us to behave?

Make the founding fathers roll over in their grave?

The Government… (The Government…)

Oh, the Government can.

The Government can because they mix it up with lies and make it all taste good.

The Government takes, everything we make,

They're power hungry and malicious.

Their economics are fictitious.

Soon we'll have to eat our dishes…

Delicious!
