While researching lab wall charts last week, I happened upon a large collection of electronics-related comics on the Keysight (cum Agilent cum Hewlett Packard) website. They are clever puns on familiar engineering themes (thumbnail samples below), professionally drawn by artist Rand Kruback, and very colorful. Permission for usage, presumably with proper attribution to the source, is granted "For your lectures or in your labs." Screen savers are somewhat passé these days, but if you are one who still sports such things, you can download the " The World Without Engineers" screensaver at no charge directly from the Keysight website.

For a guy who's formal education and professional interests do not appear to lie in the high tech realm, Mr. Kruback has done a remarkably good job of capturing the themes of 'our' terms in his cartoons. Like a great actor who can pull off any role regardless of his/her personal preferences, this ability must be a trademark of a great artist. In fact, his list of clientele also includes Hewlett Packard back in the 1980s, Verigy, the City of Loveland, Simon & Shuster, The Kids College, REV Magazine, Strategic Alliance Managers, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Paralyzed Veterans of America, Vision Research, and many more. An extensive listing of nature themed paintings and carvings and drawings can be viewed on the Rand Kruback website.
