The inventions and products featured on these pages were chosen either for their uniqueness in the RF engineering realm, or are simply awesome
(or ridiculous) enough to warrant an appearance.

is a slick idea that I wish had been around a few years back in the 1990s when I was designing filters. These
proto PCBs from RF Bites (see
their cool logo) are made to accommodate 0603 components for LP, HP, and BP configurations. Available
with or w/o a shield - cheap, too.
has come up with a MEMS-powered pico projector for your cell phone that projects WVGA images on any surface.
Look for it first in a Motorola phone.
perfect gift: for a mere €120k, this gold-plated, diamond-studded iPhone can be yours. 18-carat white gold w/
rhodium trim, encrusted with 138 princess cut and 180 brilliant cut diamonds.
is a sure sign that we have turned a corner in the cellphone realm. Evidently SMSers have gotten so adept at
using their phone keypads that they are handicapped when using a conventional keyboard. This 'cre8txt'
device plugs into a computer's USB port to rectify the problem.
WiFi-enabled universal remote control pulls the codes you need from your home wireless router. Hmmm... I wonder
if it sends any info back in the other direction?
- "where players compete for fame and glory by buying and selling shares in sites on the world wide web."
This is a trader's version of Fantasy Football - no "real" money is exchanged. RFCafe.com shares are trading
at $3 each. 275 shares are available for purchase. This might be an SEC violation, but here is some insider
information: RFCafe.com stock is set to soar in 2008 ;-)
XUV from Ford ought to give heart palpitations to Greenpeace activists. The F-650
probably makes a Hummer look like a hybrid in the gas mileage category. No worries though, because it's the
rich and famous who own them - yeah, the ones who tell us to ride bicycles. Take a look around the website -
(Glo Paint)is marketing its "Litrosphere"
material - a flexible material that gets its luminescent power from tritium (triple heavy water) radiating phosphor.
It will glow for up to 12 years with no external power source. Litrosphere can be used as a paintable coating
or even injection molded. Could this be the death knell for the
Cyalume sticks that use liquid chemicals?
Foundry is is a rapid application development package that provides a system solution for all types of measurement
instruments. For some reason I had never heard of Measure Foundry, but it is similar to LabView and Vee.
LucidTouch is a unique device under development that allows users to use all ten fingers to interact with and
control the application running on its LCD. A "pseudo translucency" effect is created by sensing the hand behind
the device and rendering the fingers on the display in a manner that emulates a translucent medium.
will wonder how you ever got along without this breath-operated USB device chargers. It is not on the market
yet, so you will have to build one of your own. Wear one of these and you will be a babe magnet (or a hunk magnet
if you are a babe).
about a Wi-Fi equipped bed? "The Starry NIght™ Sleep Technology Bed from Leggett & Platt is the archetype
of modern sleep - a pioneering combination of technology and bedding to create an environment that is intelligent,
intuitive and comfortable." Internet connectivity, wireless remote via Microsoft's Media Center, iPod docking
station, what more do you need?
